Who we're looking for

We are looking for an experienced, diligent, capable, yet dynamic + agile, Business Development Manager in South China with a positive can-do attitude to pitch our multinational luxury merchandising strategy, in order to reach full potential across diverse contemporary ‘East-to-West aesthetic’ lifestyle product categories, while communicating a consistent ‘jetsetter-tastemaker’, artisanal + responsible supply chain portfolio narrative, thoughtfully targeted to the world’s most sophisticated + demanding audience. Upholding exceptional in-house taste level, assortment quality control, partnership management, while driving cost savings + value-add for our B2B clients, will be key.

What you will be doing

Main Objectives:

  • You will be an ambitious deal-maker, a relationship-builder, liaison, and nurturer of healthy business communication with our multi brand partners. You will join us ready to unleash your impressive set of commercial skills to achieve business and personal success. You will have a deeply inquisitive mind, a well-honed consultative approach to selling and unquenchable thirst for success by creating strategic alliances with our partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Generate new leads with targets for outreach, identify and contact decision-makers, screen potential business opportunities, and select the deals in line with the company + region’s strategy + goals.
  • Develop sales relationships with new brand partners and build a strong pipeline of future partners.
  • Create and develop go-to market sales materials that help uniquely define our audience including category specific value propositions, audience and reach profiles based on key targets for these categories
  • Develop, manage and constantly improve on your personal lead generation through proactive networking via digital and face-to-face channels and events
  • Take ownership of brand partnerships as if it was your own business by constantly improving on activity and conversion
  • Drive the proposal process with strategic, thoughtful and well-packaged materials, leading the development process (liaising with internal departments at all levels).
  • To proactively track performance of your accounts, implementing course correct tactics as necessary & driving a dynamic, cross functional, collaborative way of working in order to maximise the conversion and performance of leads to actual suppliers.
  • Build knowledge, understanding & insight, including key competitor activity + analyze obstacles in the sales process and taking corrective initiative for results.
Who you are
  • 3-5 years working experience with proven successful track record in corporate sales, business development, negotiations, or generating substantial new business.
  • Strongly prefer existing connections in the world of creatives, designers (interior/architect), artisans, premium and luxury lifestyle goods, auction houses, hospitality or related media houses
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation and communication skills. Ability to present to people, to illuminate ideas and influence decisions.
  • Commercially creative with the ability to facilitate bespoke partnerships for mutual benefit
  • Exceptional networking skills – able to excite potential partners about the opportunity to work with us
  • Excellent command in both written and spoken English and Mandarin
  • Based in Shenzhen, China
