About Us

Telum Media is an exciting young company established in 2013 to provide an Asia Pacific media database and news service to PR agencies and corporates around the region. The goal is to continue improving and growing this region's only media-professional database.

Who we're looking for

The primary focus of any sales role is always to generate leads and complete sales for the Telum Media platform product in line with the set individual target. This is an industry facing role therefore the highest standards of integrity and friendliness are required. The candidate will be expected to deliver to targets and work with a high level of professionalism. As a Regional Sales Manager in addition to your responsibilities to lead by delivering your own targets and also the targets for the whole Sales team, you will support colleagues in building your own and their diaries to maximise the potential number of pitches and oversee the process to ensure that pitches are followed up and closed.

Sales require clear explanation and demonstration of Telum Media’s product and therefore you will have great attention to detail and be self-motivated with a great understanding of the product. The role will also include some research into the media industry in your region.

You will be responsible for the industry’s expectation of you as an ‘ambassador’ of Telum Media. You should understand and reflect the culture of the business. You will also need to work closely with Telum Media colleagues from our offices in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia & London on any sales projects. This role is based in Singapore, but because of the nature of the company and the work we do, there may be an element of travel involved.

What you will be doing
  • Generate meetings or calls with prospective leads across the Asia Pacific region, reaching the individual target set by the business.
  • Work using social media, public sources and our internal PR database to ensure consistent lead generation.
  • Formulate proposal according to lead’s requirements for the products.
  • Negotiate prices and variations in prices within the rule of the pricing policy.
  • Delivery of prospective leads into clients for the Telum products, hitting individual targets as set by the sales leadership.
  • Challenge objections in order to get the lead to buy a product.
  • Record all information in internal sales system and full logging of information to allow easy transition of leads amongst the sales team.
  • Review self-sales performance with a view to improve it.
  • Update and maintain the PR/Corporate database/CRM with any changes picked up in the process of finding leads, flagging any PR moves to the PR alert team.
  • Maintain full understanding of company systems/product and what the teams do.
Who you are
  • Bachelor’s degree; business and marketing majors preferred.
  • Two to three years in a sales or public relations role; within industry preferred.
  • Strong intrapersonal skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Hardworking, persistent, and dependable.
  • Positive and enthusiastic.
  • Working to deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all work
  • Computer literate (MS Office)
  • Professional level English (required)
