Who we're looking for

To support the development and maintenance of accurate and up-to-date information, that adheres to company data policies and methodologies, to ensure customers have a high-quality experience using Telum products and services. More specifically, to professionally support the team in delivering annual business plan objectives with database accuracy, verification and enhancements, news and networking.

What you will be doing
  • Executives should be determined to deliver country information verification goals
  • Work at a high standard and fully encompass Telum Style Guide and technical requirements
  • Constantly look for opportunities to enrich Telum information via interaction with sources and directly with the media. Executives should be proactive in supporting team efforts and journalists
  • Demonstrate professionalism in prioritizing and managing personal and team tasks to ensure all are completed on time; including activity tasks and management of information sources, e.g bounce-backs, ‘dropped emails’ and by-line checks, among others
  • Executives should be proactive in managing and supporting the team and content dashboard to ensure information is accurately updated in the database prior to articles being published on the news site
  • Accurately ‘sub’ and publish daily content on the news site to support audience and readership growth
  • Work to achieve Telum’s journalist engagement strategy, e.g. first alerts, media requests, interest surveys, jobs, Top 500 interviews / enhancements
  • Demonstrate an interest and confidence to meet journalists in one-to-one meetings
  • Are proficient in representing the company at events and meetings; being able to demonstrate a knowledge of Telum and the industry across the region
  • Show a determination to accurately enhance the database with proprietary information –including interest surveys and interviews – according to client ‘top view’ statistics across current affairs, consumer, business and financial titles
  • Beginning to support overall team effort
  • Offering mentor / coaching support to ensure colleagues work to a high standard
  • Should be proactively managing personal and team tasks, as well as delegating to new joiners
Allied / Occasional duties:
  • Confident to help out at Telum events and support client training if required
  • Demonstrate a commercial awareness and be confident to discuss monthly reports, as well as determine workflow with colleagues to meet team objectives
  • Supports project implementation where necessary and a confidence to determine requirements with senior colleagues
Dimensions of the job:
  • Contribute to and support the successful completion of the Team targets in-line with country business plans
  • Contribute to and support the successful completion of the Team rota each week
Key Internal / External relationships
  • Country and Information Team Colleagues, Talks, Sales, Client Management and Region Head
  • Journalists, Clients and Telum People
Who you are
Core Competencies:
  • Degree educated or equivalent experience
  • Experience and knowledge of the media industry
  • Enjoys working under pressure, optimistic and energetic
  • Great attention to detail and a result driven approach
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
  • Ability to work in a team and self-motivate
  • Enthusiastic about maintaining standards
  • Proven ability to work to deadlines
  • Excellent ‘standard written English’
  • Computer literate (MS Office)
  • Good grasp of the internet / IT
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent research skills
