About Us

Roots Technology is disrupting traditional equity management tools and solving universal pain points with Sprout, a comprehensive suite of stakeholder management software-as-a-service (SaaS). Sprout enables companies to efficiently manage cap tables, employee stock options and shareholders as a single source of truth, saving time and money. Roots was founded by an ex-Uber Asia business executive and a China product and engineering leader with a combined 35-years of global startup experience launching companies at scale and cultivating large teams. We were founded in 2019 in Hong Kong and co-located in Beijing. We recently raised our first external round of financing from a group of influential, early-stage investors.

Who we're looking for

We’re looking for an energetic intern to work with our marketing team to help us with various tasks related to marketing. Ideally you are studying marketing, communications, PR or similar. You will be self-sufficient, a self-starter, detailed-orientated and curious about marketing. You’ll be willing to get in and get your hands dirty. The range of tasks will be extensive and every day could be a different challenge. You could be involved in marketing research, social media, writing, design, PR, events or customer engagement. Obviously there will be admin tasks, database and the usual tools, backend and operational functions that come with marketing and a small team. We are looking for people who are curious, who are willing to learn and want to apply their marketing knowledge in real-world situations. You’ll need to be detail-oriented, an effective an structued communicator (verbally and written) and a transparent team player. You’ll have a unique opportunity to join a startup and learn the best practices from a team that has a unique background from the corporate and start up world from multiple geographics and industries.

What you will be doing

Work with the marketing team to deliver on the marketing plan
Perform research projects, competitive analysis, and present findings in presentations and reports
Deliver design on Canva to support marketing campaigns
Ensure all marketing activities have appropriate measurements and a way to measure them
Manage the customer databases
Support marketing campaign planning and execution.
Write copy for social media posts, promotional emails, and other marketing collateral.
Assist in the creation of written, video, and image content for marketing channels.
Participate in marketing brainstorming sessions.
Assist in the management of website SEO.
Take part in formal and informal training opportunities.
Measure and report the results of marketing initiatives.
Other tasks as required

Who you are

Currently enrolled at an accredited university in Hong Kong with in-depth knowledge and studies of a relevant field such as marketing, communications, PR with applied understanding of basic marketing principles
Strong work ethic, curiosity, positive attitude and drive
Microsoft Office Suite skills
Ideally exposure or experience in Canva, Hubspot (or similar), Google analytics, Wordpress or other marketing tools
Familiarity with major social media platforms and content creation (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.)
Comfortable with multitasking in a deadline-driven environment
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of SEO techniques and best practices
Basic photography, image and video editing, and graphic design skills
