Redress is an environmental charity with a mission to prevent and transform textile waste to catalyze a circular economy and reduce fashion's water, chemical, and carbon footprints. Our programs work to change mindsets and practices to stop the creation of textile waste now and in the future, as well as creating systems and partnerships that generate and showcase the value in existing waste.

Who we're looking for

Environmental non-profit Redress is looking for a full-time Programme Assistant to  support the Circular Fashion Team in the development and execution of its programme to  raise awareness and inspire positive change about the way we make, buy and dispose of  clothing through engagement with consumers, students and industry.  

The Programme Assistant will support the planning and execution of the Circular Fashion  Team's major projects, including the October Get Redressed Month public awareness  campaign, year-round Takeback programme in retail stores, Get Redressed secondhand  clothes pop-up shops, ECF Circular Fashion education programme for primary and  secondary schools, year-round secondhand clothes resale programme, and other ad-hoc  volunteering activities and events.  

The Programme Assistant will support the Circular Fashion team in the office and onsite  at events through active engagement with a variety of stakeholders (including brands,  manufacturers, designers, schools, vendors, sponsors, charity beneficiaries and  government departments), to push the issue of textile waste onto a mainstream agenda  in HK and forge the development of resources and infrastructure to support our work and  wider mission.

What you will be doing
  • Communicating and engaging with our key partners and event participants  including vendors, companies, schools, charities and individuals.  
  • Database management.
  • Translation and proofreading in English and Chinese.
  • Logistics and warehouse management.
  • Sourcing quotes for logistics, event and marketing costs.
  • Supporting the programme manager on marketing activities including preparing  written content and images for newsletters, website and social media.
  • Photographing, listing and monitoring secondhand items via third party resale  platforms, stock management and customer service.  
  • Onsite assistance at events including vendor and volunteer management.
  • Support on creating and conducting surveys to assess the impact of the Circular  Fashion programme.
  • Ad-hoc research tasks.  
  • Supporting the wider activities of Redress, e.g. the grand final show of the  Redress Design Award.  
  • Performing general programme administrative support, responding to general  queries and providing ad-hoc duties as needed.
Who you are
  • Undergraduate university degree (e.g. B.A. or equivalent);
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a relevant and similar business or charity role. Environmental sustainability related work experience preferred.  
  • Experience in coordinating events and/or logistics preferred.
  • Eligible to live and work in Hong Kong (permanent resident or visa holder only).
  • A strong team player with excellent multi-tasking skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organised, with excellent time management.
  • Ambitious, willing to learn, optimistic and enthusiastic.
  • Willing to accept a high workload at certain times of the year.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Fluent written and spoken English and Cantonese essential.
  • Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills a must.
  • A passion for environmental sustainability and fashion.
