About Us

Mind HK is a fast-paced, quickly-growing mental health charity, with the mission to ensure that no one in Hong Kong is facing a mental health problem alone. Since our launch in November 2017, we have trained over 12,000 people on mental health awareness, have an average of 50,000 users per month on our website, and regularly engage with hundreds of thousands of individuals from the local community through our campaigns.

Who we're looking for

Mind HK is currently looking for highly qualified individuals to act as Clinical Supervisors for our new Youth Wellbeing Practitioner (YWP) programme, which will offer low-cost, evidence-based mental health treatments to young people aged 12-24.

What you will be doing

General:

  • Offer a minimum of 2 hours supervision per week across a 9-month period.
  • Provide feedback to inform post-pilot programme development.
  • Willingness to work with the standards of practice according to the values of Mind HK.
  • Attend a 2 day training course to introduce the programme and fundamentals of supervising a trainee using this model (this training is provided free of charge).

Clinical:

  • Provide clinical supervision to a number of trainee practitioners.
  • Ensure trainees are adhering to the manualised intervention protocol.
  • Advise trainees on risk management and reacting to changes in presentation.
  • Preferable: Facilitate monthly group supervision sessions.

Management:

  • Support trainees through their training programme with clinical advice and guidance.
  • Conduct periodic placement reviews to identify any problems occurring on placements and support trainees to resolve these with placement staff.
  • Assess trainees’ clinical work via recordings of sessions or via direct observation.
  • Assess trainees’ competence against agreed standards set out by Mind HK and provide periodic written feedback to the trainee and programmes staff.

Practical

  • Able to offer weekly supervision in their own clinic space (holding some supervision sessions remotely is permitted) .
Who you are
  • Masters degree/DClinPsy/PsyD/postgraduate qualification in relevant discipline (Clinical Psychology, Counselling or other
  • Post-graduate mental health qualification)
  • Training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • 2+ years post qualification experience Experience of providing clinical supervision
  • Experience of using ACT therapeutically
  • Experience of having worked therapeutically with children/young people
  • Able to commit at least 2 hours per week for 9 months
  • Hong Kong resident or valid working visa for the duration of the programme
  • Holds professional indemnity insurance that covers supervision
  • Fluent English speaker
  • Current holder of, or willing to undertake SCRC check

Good to have

  • Advanced training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
  • Experience of leading group supervision
  • Bilingual: Cantonese or Mandarin speaker
