What you will be doing
  • You have experience of working with sustainability in a business environment
  • You have successful project management experience
  • You have Experience of leading in a changing environment
  • You are able to lead, inspire and engage
  • You have successful experience of setting and implementing action plans and providing clear direction and following up on goals
  • You are able to work within a matrix organization as both a leader and a coach
  • You have good knowledge of how to balance and merge environmental, social and economic aspects to define sustainability and how IKEA uses that knowledge in striving to make business within the limits of the planet
  • You have general knowledge on relevant sustainability subject matters within the specific topic/market area, with the desire to develop deeper knowledge
  • You have general knowledge of activity planning, the commercial calendar and how to ensure customer engagement and retention
  • You have emerging knowledge of what healthy and sustainable living means and how it contributes to reducing environmental household footprint and help people make a positive change
  • You have fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • You have bachelor degree in relevant area with 5 years’ experience in retail business
Who you are
  • Inspire and enable people to live a more sustainable life at home through integral involvement in related projects and activities, such as conduct the co-worker and customer engagement projects, work with Country CAL to deliver mega events, marketing projects, in-store communication and range solutions, and support the sales steering of the 4th Ace across all HFB
  • Collaborate and align with applicable country function internally, as well as external stakeholders to integrate sustainability across all country functions in delivering their sustainability contribution to the agreed frameworks and strategy
  • Translate global direction and ambitions into local relevant actions, to drive sustainability initiatives, processes and projects that deliver to the total business agenda and a more People and Planet Positive IKEA
  • Ensure that alignment, budget and resources are in place to move the sustainability agenda forward in applicable areas within your country - progression through agreed methods and tools and closing the performance gap
  • Enable and follow-up sustainability performance and progress based on the country business plans, I-Conduct requirements and Sustainability Commercial Review
  • Facilitate the integration and implementation of sustainability by supporting the country functions with the right information, best practice solution, tools & methods and ways of working. Provide support in delivering co-worker sustainability training and secure the understanding of roles and contributions to the sustainability agenda in each function. Provide support in identifying talent and succession planning
  • Develop a strong understanding of specific sustainability situation in your country and contribute to country business agenda, to feedback and share across sustainability matrix
  • Proactively identify challenges and opportunities and/or supporting units to overcome challenges and optimise opportunities, formulate action plans accordingly
  • Documenting and evaluating initiatives and activities with a view to capitalise on learning, sharing and promote continuous improvement
  • Work with Business Innovation Team if any renovations, rebuilds and new business model from a sustainability standpoint by providing information, research for best practices, learnings and new technologies
