About Us

Coherent is a Hong Kong insurtech startup that builds products to improve transparency, speed and efficiency throughout the insurance buying process, empowering insurers, brokers and agents to deliver superior customer experience.

Founded in 2016 with over 60 team members in Hong Kong and Shanghai, we build next-generation solutions to solve the toughest challenges that insurers and intermediaries face on a daily basis.

Who we're looking for

Coherent (HK) is looking for a Product Manager, Human Engagement to join the team!

What you will be doing
  • Formulate, across all stakeholders (end-users, developers, operations staff, insurers), the ‘human experience’ strategy, roadmap, scope and prioritisation of new opportunities/challenges/unexpressed customer needs
  • Own the ongoing platform evolution, including a strategic view of the stakeholder experiences to differentiate Coherent’s offering from rest of the industry, and the data model/architecture/algorithms necessary to deliver and maintain that edge.
  • Use your technical expertise, multi-layered understanding of product data, and empathy to drive decisions.
  • Advise the creation and maintenance of documentation, guides and tutorials.
  • Collaborate with other product leaders within the Embedded Group & other Coherent shared services teams to ensure alignment, influence roadmaps and resolve dependencies.
  • Deliver customer value iteratively, managing products through sprint planning, launch phases, and follow-on releases: Use “enterprise agile” principles to balance fast release cycles while ensuring minimal/no disruption to existing B2B customer and partner base
  • Work across go-to-market departments like Sales, Success and Advocacy to ensure the successful adoption of our products and features.
  • Develop KPIs and metrics to measure and track progress towards success and drive a cross-functional team to set qualitative objectives and quantitative goals.
Who you are

What you NEED to know (required skills)...

  • 6+ years relevant experience as product manager with clear delivery record of great customer and developer experiences
  • Experience building self-service products
  • Be just as comfortable designing APIs with engineers as designing user interfaces with design teams - and you understand the technology trade-offs.
  • Proven capability and interest in data modelling, Customer Data Platform or related software and in building modern products that increase a business' ability to know, understand and serve their customers better.
  • An owner’s mindset - you don’t shy away from the hard stuff and are able to run your projects with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work effectively in diverse, cross-functional and remote teams
  • A proven track record of success in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple competing and often conflicting priorities

What we would LIKE you to know (preferred skills)...

  • Experience working in the Insurance and / or Financial Services industry, particularly user journey and product experience
  • Experience designing - or working with - APIs and other developer-facing products with a focus on usability and developer experience. Some experience as an engineer or developer is useful. We believe a good product manager should be able to use their own product.
  • Love for data and an experimental mindset with ability to get hands-on with the data, explore ambiguous questions to derive insight and present convincing arguments to rally rest of team around your vision
  • Exceptional at communicating with senior management as well as with colleagues from technical and non-technical backgrounds
  • A degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or closely related field.
  • Former developer/coder
  • Excellent technical acumen, curiosity, and familiarity with new technologies, API’s, programming languages, databases, and applications of machine learning algorithms
What we offer
  • Competitive salary packages
  • Health Insurance (Medical and Dental)
  • Flexible working
  • Special Events (Hackathons, etc.)
  • No formal dress code
  • Non-hierarchical organisation (no BS)
  • Generous leave benefits
  • Fun international work environment
  • Global mobility opportunities
