Who we're looking for

Avery Dennison is looking for a Commercial Skill Development Specialist to join the team!

What you will be doing
  • Assist in the development and deployment of training tools and processes for the global commercial organization.
  • Execute the training project plan for all training events and hold teams accountable to deliver timely results.
  • Ensure a robust process for measuring effectiveness of skill development programs and results gathering
  • Help build a world-class learning and development program that equips our commercial teams to delight customers, exceed goals and lead the market.  
  • Collaborate with other teams, including Commercial Leaders, Commercial Enablement and Product Line Management to ensure alignment for global training execution across the organization.
  • Research market to understand commercial needs for future success, assess internal learning and development needs, and follow through with effectiveness measurements.
  • Serve as an internal consultant, facilitator and educator on training process and organizational capability.
  • Coordinate all activities to deliver on the Global Training calendar.  Ensure all deadlines are met on time and all deliverables are complete to exceptional standards.
  • Participate in and, at times, lead Train-the-Trainer events.
  • Create and maintain Training Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and world class standards for all training efforts within the organization.  Influence and hold teams accountable to work within defined SOPs.
  • Collaborate with peers and other functional teams to develop and deliver sales training curriculum (both virtual and in-person) and measure the effect on the business.
  • Build institutional knowledge by systematically capturing, documenting and disseminating lessons learned from prior projects and initiatives.
Who you are
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 3-5 years related business experience, with emphasis on training, project management, or organization development.
  • Demonstrated success in leading large scale projects across cross functional teams with multiple stakeholders among all organizational levels (virtually).
  • Excellent overall business acumen and organizational savvy, including expert level presentation and meeting facilitation skills.
  • Ability to build relationships across various levels of the organization (virtually & in-person).
  • Prior experience building and executing sales training programs and curriculum.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously, delivering high quality work while under significant deadline pressure.
  • Excellent project and process management skills.
  • Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to take direction from multiple sources and create a shared vision.
  • Expert in Microsoft Office products, including Excel and PowerPoint and their Google Drive equivalents.  Ability to deliver professional and creative content.
  • Strong record of achievement, with solid analytical skills and an entrepreneurial hands-on approach to work.
  • Excellent people skills, including experience working with a variety of inter-departmental and international stakeholders.•
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as required for the role (Approx. 30-50%).
