Who we're looking for

Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Strategic Partnerships and Business Development will lead the company’s business and corporate development initiatives globally. Deal sourcing is a key component to the role. You will provide leadership in evaluating and executing new investment opportunities and strategic partnerships. You will play an influential role in driving Airwallex’s regional and global strategic growth.

What you will be doing
  • Lead a comprehensive process to identify and evaluate potential opportunities, which includes a rigorous idea generation and screening process
  • Collaborate with the strategy team and other teams to keep an ongoing flow of ideas and corporate development opportunities that is aligned with each team’s objectives
  • Lead cross functional teams (finance, product, legal, etc.) in assessing, developing and driving strategic partnerships on a global scale
  • Evaluate other strategic initiatives such as investments, joint ventures, divestitures, and strategic partnership activities

  • You are a team player – and love managing internal stakeholders as well as external partners and works collaboratively with people at all levels and across functions and cultures

You have:

  • Strong experience in an established tech company, leading BD and strategic partnerships across multiple regions
  • 10 + years relevant experience with 4+ years in a management capacity, preferably in top-tier investment banking, investments in VCs, management consulting, or corporate development at a large global corporation or equivalent
  • Bachelors Degree in a related field, and MBA would be an advantage
  • Understanding of what it takes to work with an early stage company
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills essential
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proven project management capabilities
  • Technology, payments, and financial services understanding and experience
  • Strong leadership skills with a team-oriented and collaborative approach to work
